Which MIT Tablet Strength Is Right for You? (40 / 80 / 120 mg)
Share
Our Nano Tech Mitragynine Tablets come in three strengths: 40 mg, 80 mg and 120 mg of mitragynine per tablet. On a product page those numbers sit side by side and look like small steps. They aren't. Going from 40 mg to 80 mg doubles what you take. Going from 40 mg to 120 mg triples it.
Pick too low and you've paid for a tablet you barely noticed. Pick too high on day one and you'll learn the hard way that mitragynine stays in your system for a long time. This guide covers what each MIT tablet strength is for, how it lines up against the kratom leaf you may already know, what each pack really costs per tablet, and how to move between strengths without guessing.
Read the MIT Tablet Label the Right Way First
Our MIT tablet packs are named by the total mitragynine in the pack, not the amount in each tablet. It's an easy mistake to make. "1200mg - 15 Count" means fifteen tablets at 80 mg each. It does not mean 1,200 mg per tablet.
Here is every MIT pack we currently list, broken down per tablet. Prices are as of September 29, 2026.

Look at the last column. Across the 15-count packs, every strength costs roughly 10 to 11 cents per milligram. A stronger tablet doesn't save you money. A bigger pack does. So choose the strength based on how your body responds, then choose the pack size based on how often you'll actually use it.
Every tablet in the line is chewable and flavored, and every batch has a lab report you can open before you buy through our Lab Reports page. "Nano Tech" refers to a particle size reduction step during manufacturing. It is not an extra ingredient or a proprietary blend. We cover what that term does and doesn't mean in What "Nano Tech" Really Means.
How 40, 80 and 120 mg Compare to Kratom Leaf
Most people shopping for MIT tablets have used kratom powder before, so leaf is the most useful yardstick we can offer.
Mitragynine content varies from one batch of leaf to the next, but there's a well-documented example in a 2024 human study of dried kratom leaf powder published in Molecules. The leaf in that study was about 1.33% mitragynine by weight. Four grams of powder delivered 53.2 mg of mitragynine.
Using that leaf as the reference:
|

|---|---|
|
40 mg |
3 grams of that leaf |
|
80 mg |
6 grams of that leaf |
|
120 mg |
9 grams of that leaf |
Treat this as a rough guide, not a conversion chart. Whole leaf contains dozens of other alkaloids (we break down the main ones in What Are Kratom Alkaloids?), while an MIT tablet contains one. The leaf you used before may also have been stronger or weaker than 1.33%. Still, if your usual scoop was 2 or 3 grams, this tells you something useful: 120 mg is not where you start.
If you want the fuller picture of how mitragynine differs from 7-OH and other kratom compounds, read What Are MIT Tablets? first.
Which MIT Strength Fits You
40 mg: the starting point
The 40 mg tablet is where we'd point anyone who is:
- New to mitragynine or kratom altogether
- Used to small amounts of leaf, around 2 to 3 grams
- Smaller in body size, or someone who tends to react strongly to new supplements
- Trying an isolate for the first time, even with years of leaf experience, since a single-alkaloid tablet can feel different from whole leaf
The 40 mg strength comes in the 600mg - 15 Count pack. At $4.33 a tablet, it's also the cheapest way to find out whether mitragynine suits you at all.
80 mg: the middle, and where most people land
80 mg makes sense once you've used 40 mg several times and know how it sits with you. It also fits people with steady leaf experience in the 5 to 6 gram range who have already tried an isolate product.
It has the most pack options of any strength:
- 80mg - 1 Count at $9.99, a cheap way to test the step up from 40 mg before committing
- 400mg - 5 Count at $44.99 for occasional use
- 1200mg - 15 Count at $124.99, the lowest cost per tablet at this strength, and the widest flavor range: Strawberry, Mixed Berry, Raspberry, Mint Chocolate, Blue Razz, Banana and Orange
120 mg: for people who already know their number
120 mg is for experienced users who have spent real time at 80 mg and have a clear reason to go higher. It isn't a beginner strength, and it isn't a way to get more for your money, since the price per milligram matches the other 15-count packs.
Your options are the 120mg - 1 Count at $14.99, the 600mg - 5 Count at $67.99, and the 1800mg - 15 Count at $189.99, which clears our $169 free Priority shipping threshold on its own.
One more point on 120 mg. If you find yourself reaching for it after a few weeks of daily use at a lower strength, that's usually tolerance, not the tablets getting weaker. More on that below.
Why You Should Wait Two Hours Before Taking More
The most common mistake at any strength is taking a second tablet too soon.
In the same 2024 leaf study, mitragynine reached its peak blood level about 1 to 1.3 hours after a single dose. Depending on the dose group, its average half-life reached 43.4 hours after one dose and 67.9 hours after repeated daily doses. Put simply, mitragynine rises fairly quickly and leaves slowly. Take a tablet today and a meaningful amount is still in your body tomorrow.
That has two practical consequences.
- Redosing stacks. If you take a second tablet an hour after the first because you "don't feel it yet," you're adding to a level that hasn't peaked. Give it at least two full hours before deciding anything.
- Daily use builds up. Researchers found blood levels kept climbing for about eight or nine days of daily dosing before leveling off. The tablet that felt right on Monday can feel stronger by Friday, even though nothing about the tablet changed.
A Simple Way to Find Your Strength
Here's the approach we suggest for your first pack.
- Start with one 40 mg tablet on a day when you don't need to drive or do anything demanding.
- Wait at least two hours. Note how you feel at the one-hour and two-hour marks.
- Don't take another tablet that day during your first few sessions.
- Leave at least a day between those first sessions so you aren't stacking on top of what's still in your system.
- Only move to 80 mg after several sessions at 40 mg, and test the step with the single 80 mg tablet before buying a 15-count.
- Keep notes: date, strength, whether you'd eaten, and how you felt. After a week or two you'll have a better answer than any chart can give you.
If the 40 mg pack is out of stock when you're ready to start, wait for the restock rather than starting at 80 mg. A week's delay beats a rough first experience.
What Changes How a Strength Feels
The number on the tablet is only part of the story.
Food. A tablet taken on an empty stomach usually comes on faster and stronger than one taken after a full meal. If you switch between the two, expect the same strength to feel different.
Tolerance. Mitragynine acts as a partial agonist at the mu-opioid receptor, and research on regular kratom use links it to tolerance, dependence and withdrawal. Regular days off are the simplest way to keep a lower strength working, and they matter more with a compound that lingers for days.
Other medicines. Mitragynine is broken down mainly by CYP3A4, the same liver enzyme that processes a long list of prescription drugs. Some medications, and grapefruit, slow that enzyme down, which can leave more mitragynine in your system than you planned for. Our CYP3A4 guide explains how that works. If you take any prescription medication, talk to your doctor before using MIT tablets.
Other substances. Don't combine mitragynine with alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, sleep aids or any other sedative.
If You're Switching From 7-OH Tablets
With the DEA moving to schedule 7-OH, a lot of 7-OH customers are looking at MIT tablets for the first time. Two honest points.
First, the milligram numbers aren't comparable. 7-OH is far more potent per milligram than mitragynine, so an 80 mg MIT tablet is not "the same" as an 80 mg 7-OH tablet. Don't try to match the numbers. Start at 40 mg like any new user and judge MIT on its own terms.
Second, if you've been taking 7-OH daily and plan to stop, MIT tablets are not a withdrawal treatment, and we won't pretend otherwise. Stopping a daily opioid-like product can bring on real withdrawal. Talk to a doctor, or call the free, confidential SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 to find treatment options near you.
For the regulatory side, including what the DEA has already scheduled and what's still pending, see MGM-15, MGM-16 and Pseudoindoxyl: What the DEA's August 2026 Order Covers.
Before You Order
- We sell only to adults 21 and over.
- We can't ship MIT tablets to Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana or Wisconsin, or to the counties listed in our shipping policy. Local rules change often, so check yours before ordering.
- Open the COA for your batch. Our guide on how to read a Certificate of Analysis shows what to look for.
- Orders over $169 ship free via Priority. The 1800mg - 15 Count clears that alone. So does pairing the 1200mg - 15 Count with the 400mg - 5 Count ($169.98 together).
MIT Tablet Strength FAQ
What does "1200mg - 15 Count" mean on an MIT tablet pack?
It's the total mitragynine in the pack. Fifteen tablets at 80 mg each add up to 1,200 mg.
Which MIT tablet strength should a beginner start with?
40 mg. Take one tablet, wait at least two hours, and don't take a second one that day during your first few sessions.
Is the 120 mg tablet better value than the 40 mg tablet?
No. Our 15-count packs all cost about 10 to 11 cents per milligram. Buying a bigger pack saves money. Buying a higher strength doesn't.
How long does mitragynine stay in your system?
Longer than most people expect. In a 2024 human study, the average half-life reached about 43 hours after a single dose and about 68 hours with repeated daily doses. That's why redosing and daily use add up.
Are MIT tablets being banned along with 7-OH?
Not as of September 29, 2026. The DEA's August 2026 order scheduled mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15 and MGM-16, and a separate 7-OH proposal is pending. Mitragynine and kratom leaf remain federally uncontrolled, though some states and counties restrict kratom products.
What does "Nano Tech" mean on the label?
It describes a particle size reduction step in manufacturing. It doesn't mean there's an added compound or a separate active ingredient. The only active ingredient is mitragynine.
The Short Version
Start at 40 mg. Give every tablet two full hours. Move up to 80 mg only after several calm sessions, and treat 120 mg as a strength you arrive at through experience, not one you buy for value. Then pick the pack size by how often you'll really use it, because that's where the savings are.
